Winter Development Program
January – March 2026
South Okanagan FA Winter Development Program provides additional, academy-style training designed to work alongside club soccer and league play.
This program does not replace club soccer. Players are encouraged and fully able to continue training and competing with their clubs while participating in this winter program.
Program Dates

Start: Tuesday, January 5th, 2026

End: Wednesday March 11th, 2026
Training Schedule
Training is offered twice per week for January and then one per week in February & March. 14 sessions in total, with each session lasting one hour:

Tuesdays: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM. January 6th - January 27th.

Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM. January 7th - March 11th.
Players are encouraged to attend all sessions to maximise development.
Location
Sportsplex at Kings Park
Penticton, BC
All sessions will take place indoors, allowing for consistent training throughout the winter months.
Program Focus
Winter sessions will focus on preparing players for the upcoming season through:

Ball mastery and technical skill development

Fundamental movements and core skills

Improving confidence and comfort on the ball

Game-related fundamentals to support match play
Training is structured, purposeful, and designed to complement what players are learning in their club environment.
Game Opportunities & Friendlies
During the program, coaches will aim to arrange friendly matches where possible to give players additional game exposure.

Friendlies are not guaranteed

They are considered bonus opportunities

They are not included as part of the core program
Any additional game opportunities will be communicated separately.
Program Cost

Cost: $160 for the full Winter Development Program
This fee covers all 14 scheduled training sessions from January 5th to March 11th 2026 & a training jersey.
Club Compatibility
This program is designed to be additional training and works alongside existing club commitments.

Participation in this program does not conflict with club training or league play

The goal is to support and enhance player development, not replace team environments
Players are fully able—and encouraged—to do both club soccer and academy training.
